Scholarships

How do I go about getting financial aid?

All About Theatre is honored to be able to provide financial aid to families in Santa Cruz County when they can. Each show consists of fundraisers, from Concession Sales & Silent Auctions, to Program Ad Sales & Car Washes. To apply for financial aid, please complete the scholarship application form & read the policies below. No-one is guaranteed funding. Each show is different depending on the amount in the scholarship fund and the number of applicants.

What can I do in return?

We are aware that those who are in need of financial assistance may not always have the time to donate to our fundraisers either, but we do request that tasks such as flyering, baking goods for the concessions, soliciting program ads & auction items be high on the list of volunteer hours per family. After that we email out pleas for help. We hope and anticipate that all families will offer their skills in areas such as carpentry, sewing, hair & make-up, ushering and more...

Policies

Dear Parent & Community Member,

All About Theatre has a scholarship program created exclusively to provide tuition assistance for students and families in financial need. The Scholarship Screening Committee considers each application individually and confidentially before making a determination. There are no restrictions in the selection of recipients. The number of eligible individuals and the scholarship grant amounts vary depending upon financial need and the availability of scholarship funds. The amount of each scholarship may range from a full discount to a percentage of the full tuition. All About Theatre considers the scholarships to be gifts and not loans. Scholarship recipients will be held to the same standards of behavior and attendance as all participants. Violation of such can result in withdrawal of the scholarship. Another way All About Theatre helps defray the cost of participation is to offer automatic tuition discount to families enrolling more than one child in a production.

To be considered for financial assistance apart from the ‘multiple child’ discounts, please complete and return the Scholarship Application form by the date stated on the form. Scholarships will be awarded at the beginning of the instructional period. Applications received after the published deadline will only be considered if scholarship funds are available.

Yours Sincerely,
Lindsey Chester
Executive & Artistic Director
