Theatre 831
Theatre 831 is the former legal name of All About Theatre. It was changed on April 24, 2026 to All About Theatre. Our new mission is to produce youth focused musical theater through its Academy, and to manage the Colligan Theater at the Tannery Arts Center.
We are Evolving.
Theatre 831 is transitioning to All About Theatre.
For years, Theatre 831 has been the legal parent organization behind two things you may know well: All About Theatre (our youth musical theater program) and the Colligan Theater at the Tannery Arts Center. Theatre 831 has always existed behind the scenes, handling the governance, finances, and partnerships that keep everything running.
But we realized something. All About Theatre is the name that Santa Cruz actually knows and trusts. It's warm, it's clear, and it reflects what we're really about. So instead of keeping two names for what is essentially one organization and one mission, we're consolidating.
What's changing
We are changing our legal name from Theatre 831 to All About Theatre.
All About Theatre is updating its purpose to add the management of the Colligan and related programs to those of our flagship youth musical theater productions.
As part of this expansion, we will support performing arts beyond our core youth musical theatre productions to include people of all ages and backgrounds.
The youth musical theater program is now called the Performing Arts Academy, an All About Theatre program.
The Colligan Theater continues as a key part of what we do.
What's staying the same
The same people, doing the same work, with the same commitment to the arts in Santa Cruz.
All programs continue without interruption.
Our values and our community are at the heart of everything.
This is a natural evolution, not a reinvention.
